Andy Sawford is a British author, journalist and broadcaster. He was born in Plymouth and educated at the local grammar school. He worked as a journalist for various national newspapers for twenty years before becoming a full-time writer. In 2004 he was elected as a Conservative councillor in the London Borough of Southwark, but was ejected from the party in 2008
He has been a regular broadcaster on both radio and television since then. His book Cash: A Love Story was published in 2012 and he is currently working on a novel based on his experiences as a Conservative councillor.
